Has Draco Malfoy been spontaneously interrogating you about your reasons for joining the IS? Or has he singled me out in particular?

Here I was thinking it was both welcome and strange that so few people seemed to bat an eye when I signed up under the circumstances I did. But then, most everyone who would have been alarmed was already in on it. Maybe they didn't bat enough eyes. Probably that would have helped.

I think you said something once, about how if we did this, we should have each other's backs. And I agree, but if it comes down to anyone suspecting either of us, I don't think either of us should make too much noise arguing for the other's loyalty. Neither of us has enough social currency to pull that off. If Malfoy or someone does out one of us as an IS 'traitor,' well, that just means the other will have to pull this off on their own.

I'm not too worried, yet. But we'll see.

I've been thinking about how over hols, we probably shouldn't tell Mum and Dad about any of it. Dad would only freak out and try to pull us out of school again, and they won't let him this time, and it would only make trouble. The more they continue to stay in the dark and support the Ministry, the better it will be for us here.


I asked Mum to send me my sari from Cousin Anil's wedding for the Christmas gala. Do you think I should wear it or will I stick out like a sore thumb? It's that or the dress robes I wore three years ago for the St Mungo's gala. I could charm them a nicer shade of blue. I didn't mention that you weren't going, so she might ask you about it, but I hope not.
